Videos, Lesson Plans & Assemblies for RE, PSHE & Citizenship

Some users occasionally experience difficulties using video websites in school environments. So we have put together some tips to help you avoid the most common problems. If you try the tips below and find you are still having probelms with TrueTube, please let us know and we will do our best to help you.

1. I can see the website, but films won't play

  • Some anti-virus software will scan any videos which you try to play. This slows down the process massively, so ask your IT administrator to add the following domains to the school's white-list or list of safe domains.

  • Check you are using the most up-to-date version of your browser.
  • Ensure you have Flash installed on your computer. Our films will try to play using HTML5 in the first instance, but will fall back to Flash if your browser is not HTML5 compliant.

2. I can access the site at home, but not in the classroom

  • Some LA's and Broadband Consortia ban TrueTube because we have "Tube" in our name. This is less of a problem than it was a few years ago, but if you experience difficulty accessing the site in school ask your IT administrator about who runs the filters, and how to get us approved.
  • They may ask for our IP address - the internet address of our servers. If so, copy and paste the information below into your email correspondance which should help.
