Explanation

Amrit is ‘holy water’ made of sugar and water, usually blessed in the Gurdwara and used in initiation ceremonies.

Context

A Sikh might say, “When I received amrit, I became a baptised Sikh, totally committed to my religion; loving God and living an honest and moral life.”

Come and join us for Vaisakhi – the Indian spring harvest festival, which has been celebrated for centuries. Vaisakhi is of special importance in Sikhi as it marks the day the Khalsa was established by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699.
