This literally means ‘to be in view’ and describes the spiritual experience of both seeing and feeling seen, by a deity or holy person.
Darshan is timetabled to take place every day in Hindu mandirs (temples) when people can come and perform their own private prayers in the presence of the murtis (images of the Hindu deities).
