Explanation

This literally means ‘The Way of the elders’. The Theravada is a principal school of Buddhism, established in Sri Lanka and South East Asia. It is also found in the West.

Context

Theravada Buddhism includes lots of different traditions including the Thai Forest Tradition and the Vipassana meditation movement.
