tri-pi-tar-ka
This literally means ‘three baskets’. In Theravada Buddhism, the Tipitaka is a collection of sacred texts in three parts (Vinaya, Sutta, Abhidhamma).
The Tipitaka contains rules for the Sangha (Vinaya), talks by the Buddha (Sutta), and Buddhist philosophy (Abhidhamma).
